How should a retained floor drain be shown in a removal scope?
Identify the drain body, cover, surrounding finish and any change in level as separate interfaces. Removing tile or a floor layer does not authorise alteration of the drain or its connection. The plumber and receiving installer need to agree what stays and what finished condition is required around it.

Keep the drain history with the enquiry
Tell the project team what the space was used for and provide available service or cleaning records. An apparently empty drain is not evidence that it is disconnected or free of residues. Any specialist cleaning or environmental assessment remains with the appropriate provider, not ordinary floor demolition.
The new floor can alter the relationship between the finish and the drain cover. Ask the installer and plumber to resolve that height and junction before setting the removal limit. Record any exposed damage for their review rather than allowing demolition to become an unplanned drain repair. The scope should say who accepts the retained component at handover.
