Ceiling lights before grid removal: who releases the zone?
Can the ceiling grid be removed while the lights remain?

Separate lighting from life-safety devices
A ceiling plan can contain lights, detectors, speakers, diffusers and sprinkler components. Give these distinct identities rather than calling them all fixtures. Fire-system work follows the building’s responsible contractors and management process; it is not part of an electrical lighting disconnect by assumption.
For each ceiling zone, record the responsible trade, the action required and who confirms readiness for removal. Avoid a single unchecked note saying services isolated. Where the ceiling will remain open between contracts, confirm who maintains the agreed condition. This is a coordination guide, not an instruction for supporting or disconnecting equipment.
